Emma's new world

Emma had her surgery Monday June 7, 2010 and it was a complete success! She did absolutly wonderful. The average Cochlear Implant surgery is 5 to 5.5 hours and Emma's was 4.5 hours. We were able to go home the same day and she slept so good that night :) She woke up Tuesday morning a bit groggy and was trying to be as active as she was before she had the surgery. I couldn't believe how fast she bounced back! She is cruising around so much now and could walk if she wanted to by herself but I think that she is still not to sure of it. Its only a matter of time before she takes that first step! June 28th she was activated and she heard for the first time, it was one of the best moments in my life. She was playing with some toys on the floor and then she turned around and looked at the audiologist and kept playing. It was amazing! She is progressing so well we can hardly believe it. She is already doing things that they expect children to be doing after wearing the Implants for 1 month. She has had them on for 5 days and is already doing it! God is so faithful! Emma's 1st birthday is right around the corner. Can you believe it my baby girl is almost 1 years old! WOW!!! We are doing a little party for her cake and ice cream, so exciting. Her cake is going to be a lady bug and we have super cute butterfly and flower plates with a #1 on it! SO cute! She has the cutest little ladybug dress to wear also! hehehe... This is her 1st 4th of July and we are going to do some fireworks I think she will like them at least I hope she does. Ben, Elizabeth and Emma 2 are coming over for the 4th and we are so stoked! I love hanging out with Elizabeth and Emma 2! They are my long lost family lol. Its so amazing because Emma 1 loves them so much and its hard because she is so into the stranger danger and she loves them! YAY!! I am just so excited for Emma and her new world. She laughs so much now and bangs toys together so many things she hardly did before she is doing all the time. It just melts your heart to know that you were able to give her something to make her life that much better. God is so good and he deserves all the glory and praise! Thank you GOD for the technology you have created to allow children who are born deaf or hard of hearing to beable to hear something so that they dont have to go thru their lives in the dark. You are so amazing and I love you so much! Praise be to God! Hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July weekend!
